MLGW recommends that customers stop dripping faucets now that outdoor temperatures are rising to help maintain water system pressure.
When temperatures drop below 20 degrees for more than four hours, customers can resume the slow drip to prevent pipes from bursting.
For now, we recommend keeping cabinets open and thermostats at a minimum of 55 degrees.
A burst water pipe or water heater is considered to be an emergency situation and could pose a danger of flooding. Customers can call 528-4465 to have water turned off. However, depending on demand, it could take some time for crews to respond.
