Rep. La Ha Voted YES to Deliver Property Tax Relief for Seniors

November 5, 2025

State Representative Nicole La Ha released the following statement:

"I voted YES to deliver property tax relief for seniors. During Veto Session, I was proud to support SB 642, a bipartisan bill that raises the income threshold for the Senior Citizen Property Tax Freeze for the first time since 2017. This means more older adults will qualify for relief:

$75,000 in 2026

$77,000 in 2027

$79,000 in 2028 and beyond

The bill also strengthens the General Homestead Exemption and expands the low-income senior freeze. These changes won't solve everything overnight, but they're a meaningful step toward fairness for seniors who've spent a lifetime contributing to our communities.

I'll keep fighting for policies that make it easier to age with dignity, stay in your home, and afford the basics. This bill now heads to the Governor's desk, and I'll be watching closely!"

Rep. Nicole La Ha proudly serves the people of the 82nd District.
