The Chinese Embassy in South Sudan holds the Open Day Event themed "Discover the 'Pandaland'" on April 29. Ambassador Ma Qiang, Minister of Culture, Museums and National Heritage of South Sudan, Hon. Sarah Nyanath Elijiah Yong, and almost 100 people from the University of Juba, South Sudan National Youth Union and Atek Kilwak Orphanage participated in the event.
Ambassador Ma stated that while the key to sound relations between countries lies in close bonds between peoples, efforts to this end must start from the youth. He expressed the hope that South Sudanese youth would know more about China, introduce more about China and move closer to China, and actively follow and participate in activities of the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, contributing their youthful energy to the bright future of China-South Sudan relations.
Hon. Minister Sarah Nyanath Elijiah Yong noted that both South Sudan and China have profound cultural heritages, and today's event has greatly promoted mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. She expressed South Sudan's willingness to continue close cultural exchanges with China and write a new chapter of friendly cooperation between the two countries.
The event was held in a warm and lively atmosphere. The Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion, children from the Atek Kilwak Orphanage, and South Sudanese Tiktoker Kiven delivered wonderful performances, drawing rounds of applause.
