Allegheny College Recognized in Phi Theta Kappa’s 2026 Transfer Honor Roll for Third Consecutive Year

Allegheny College is proud to announce it has been once again named to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society's 2026 Transfer Honor Roll for its demonstrated success in creating opportunities for community college transfer students to earn bachelor's degrees.

In total, 275 four-year colleges and universities across the nation were recognized on the list out of 1,117 who completed the society's institutional profile. Allegheny College has been included annually since 2024. In the two years since Allegheny's first inclusion on the list, transfer applications have increased 45%.

"It's encouraging to once again receive this honor not just because it aligns with how we think of our community, but because it reveals that others view us the same way.

Phi Theta Kappa evaluates colleges with five metrics to determine how well they support transfer students from admission through graduation. The metrics are: transfer student success outcomes; credit mobility and degree applicability; financial support for transfer students; recruitment and admissions practices; and campus engagement and support for transfer students.

"This recognition is about much more than transfer agreements," said Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. "Successful transfer happens when institutions intentionally design policies, practices, and campus cultures that help students thrive after they arrive. These colleges have demonstrated that transfer student success is not accidental. It is a strategic priority."

Transfer students who are active Phi Theta Kappa members are eligible for a $2,000 renewable scholarship in addition to Allegheny's existing robust financial aid offering. Guidance throughout the application process is available through Transfer Coordinator Mandy Pawling at [email protected].
