Human Rights Campaign PAC Endorses New Hampshire Rep. Chris Pappas for U.S. Senate

Rep. Chris Pappas's Record on LGBTQ+ Rights:

  • Co-chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus, advancing federal LGBTQ+ rights and protections
  • New Hampshire's first out member of Congress
  • Helped introduce and pass the Equality Act through the House of Representatives
  • Cosponsored and enacted the Respect for Marriage Act into law
  • Lead sponsor of the LGBTQ+ Panic Defense Prohibition Act, banning panic defenses based on sexual orientation or gender identity or expression in federal courts
  • Sponsor of the SERVE Act, guaranteeing and protecting VA benefits for LGBTQ+ veterans discharged under discriminatory policies
  • Led efforts with the Food and Drug Administration to reassess and update blood-donation policies that blocked LGBTQ+ donors
  • Spearheaded an appropriations request to prohibit Department of Defense funding for the transgender military ban
  • Cosponsor of the Fit to Serve Act, prohibiting discrimination in the Armed Forces on the basis of gender identity

Before Congress, Chris helped run his family's 108-year-old Manchester restaurant, serving generations of Granite Staters. A Greek immigrant descendant and Harvard graduate, he entered politics to fix a system failing everyday people. He made history as New Hampshire's first out member of Congress and built a reputation bridging divides.

HRC's Commitment to New Hampshire
Equality Voters - including the more than 360,000 in New Hampshire - are a powerful and diverse voting bloc united by support for LGBTQ+ equality. Equality Voters are younger, more racially diverse, and more female than the general electorate, and they recognize and trust the HRC brand.

HRC PAC has made significant investments in New Hampshire over the years, working to elect pro-equality champions up and down the ballot and defending hard-won protections like the passage of HB148 which protects individuals from discrimination based on gender identity. Today, HRC PAC continues to build on this legacy by mobilizing Equality Voters and supporting leaders, like Chris Pappas, who are committed to ensuring every Granite Stater can live free from discrimination and with full dignity under the law.

Paid for by Human Rights Campaign PAC, www.hrc.org, and authorized by Chris Pappas for Senate.
