NEW PLYMOUTH-The Idaho Transportation Department will begin bridge maintenance on the Interstate 84 and U.S. Highway 30 interchange bridge south of New Plymouth on Monday, May 18.
Crews will begin setting up scaffolding beneath the bridge Monday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Daytime work will begin Wednesday, May 20, with crews working from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work is expected to last until June 26.
On I-84, eastbound and westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane as needed for bridge work. On US-30, traffic on the bridge, connecting roadway and ramps will also be reduced to one lane during work operations. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone.
This maintenance work will help preserve the condition of the bridge, address needed repairs and extend the service life of the structure.
Motorists are encouraged to slow down, follow posted signs and check 511.idaho.gov for current conditions and potential delays.
