Expansion includes plans to build a team of more than 100 in Singapore and a five-year, S$40 million partnership with A*STAR, as PhysicsX scales its presence across Asia-Pacific.
Singapore - 8 October 2026 - PhysicsX, the AI company transforming industrial engineering, today announced the establishment of an Asia-Pacific hub in Singapore, supported by Temasek and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), marking a major step in its global expansion.
Following PhysicsX's $300 million Series C in June 2026 and rapid growth in the US, the Singapore hub establishes a major base for the company in Asia-Pacific, bringing its technology and engineering capabilities closer to customers and partners across the region. PhysicsX already has 20 employees working through its Singapore hub and aims to grow its local team to more than 100 over the next three years, including forward-deployed engineers, physics AI researchers, and simulation engineers.
PhysicsX is also working with several public and private sector entities in Singapore, including the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and Seatrium. Today, PhysicsX and A*STAR announced a five-year partnership to develop AI-powered engineering simulation capabilities that could help researchers and engineers explore and optimize complex designs and manufacturing processes more efficiently across a range of industrial domains.
"Some of the most consequential applications of AI over the coming decade will be in the physical world, helping us design better aircraft, chips, energy systems, vehicles, and industrial infrastructure," said Jacomo Corbo, CEO and Co-founder, PhysicsX.
"Singapore is an extraordinary place from which to build that future. It combines world-class advanced industry with deep technical talent, research excellence, long-term capital, and a government with a clear ambition for AI. Establishing our Asia-Pacific hub here brings our technology and people closer to the organizations shaping the region's industrial future - we're incredibly excited about what we can build here together."
Central to PhysicsX's expansion is a five-year strategic partnership with A*STAR, through which the two organizations will commit S$40 million to develop and apply new AI capabilities to complex engineering and manufacturing challenges.
This initiative combines the PhysicsX platform and AI expertise with A*STAR's scientific, engineering, and domain knowledge, with work spanning maritime engineering, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, and biotechnology.
The partnership will also provide opportunities to explore the application of AI-powered engineering and simulation capabilities through A*STAR's research and industry collaborations.
"AI is becoming a foundational capability for the future of science, engineering, and innovation. Through this partnership, A*STAR will combine our research and engineering expertise with PhysicsX's capabilities in physics AI to develop new approaches for tackling complex industrial challenges," said Professor Lim Keng Hui, Assistant Chief Executive, Science and Engineering Research Council, A*STAR. "The partnership reflects A*STAR's commitment to building stronger AI capabilities across our research ecosystem and applying them to address real-world engineering and manufacturing challenges."
PhysicsX is already putting this approach into practice with Singapore-based industry leaders. The company is working with Seatrium, one of the world's largest providers of offshore, marine, and energy solutions, to apply physics AI to accelerate development cycles and enable faster, better-informed design decisions.
"As industries navigate increasing complexity and demand greater efficiencies, AI-driven innovation has emerged as a strategic lever for Seatrium's growth. Our collaboration with PhysicsX brings together its advanced AI and physics-based modeling capabilities with Seatrium's decades of deep engineering expertise across some of the world's most complex offshore, marine, and energy projects," said Lee Wey Lii, Digital Senior Vice-President, Seatrium. "We see opportunities to harness and scale physics-based AI across our business footprint - from EPC delivery and next-generation product development to lifecycle services - augmenting human expertise, accelerating innovation, and improving project outcomes for our global customers."
Integral to PhysicsX's expansion is the partnership with the Singapore EDB, which has worked closely with the company to establish its local hub. The partnership supports PhysicsX in anchoring a substantive Asia-Pacific R&D and engineering mandate in Singapore, with a long-term commitment to growing local technical capabilities and talent.
Singapore ranks among the world's most AI-ready economies, with an ambition to develop 100,000 AI bilingual workers by 2029. This thriving ecosystem is attracting technology companies to establish regional mandates and deepen their R&D activities in the country. Since 2024, nearly 100 AI Centres of Excellence have been set up in Singapore by global companies from industries such as semiconductors, materials, and digital technologies.
PhysicsX aims to contribute to Singapore's AI ambitions by deepening collaboration across the country's industrial, research, and technology ecosystem. As part of this commitment, the company plans to work with local universities on programs to develop the next generation of engineering and AI talent, with potential initiatives including support for PhD students and research and training collaborations.
"We are pleased that PhysicsX has chosen Singapore as its Asia-Pacific hub," said Jermaine Loy, Managing Director, EDB. "Singapore brings together deep engineering expertise, leading research capabilities, and strong industry partnerships, providing a strong base for PhysicsX to develop new solutions and scale them across Asia and beyond. We look forward to partnering with PhysicsX to advance AI-enabled engineering, create new opportunities for our companies and talent, and strengthen Singapore's role as a place where AI can be translated into real-world industrial applications at scale."
As PhysicsX planned its Asia-Pacific expansion, Temasek - an investor in the company since 2025 and lead investor in its recent Series C round - helped shape its Singapore and regional strategy. Drawing on its industrial investment experience and understanding of Singapore's business and research ecosystem, Temasek supported PhysicsX in identifying potential partners, including Singapore-based portfolio companies such as Seatrium. This reflects Temasek's focus on helping promising scientific and engineering technologies scale into real-world industrial applications.
"AI is a multi-decade structural trend. Its biggest long-term impact will come when it moves from digital use cases into solving real-world engineering and industrial challenges," said Russell Tham, Head, Emerging Technologies, Temasek Global Investments. "At Temasek, we back emerging technologies that can reshape industries and create lasting value. PhysicsX is a strong example of how AI can enhance deep domain expertise, accelerate innovation, and strengthen business resilience."
