Eugene, OR - Today, U.S. Representative Val Hoyle released the following statement on the third anniversary of the October 7th attack:
"It's been 3 years since Hamas' brutal terrorist attack on October 7. We cannot forget the 1,200 innocent people who were brutally murdered that day and the more than 250 hostages taken from their families. As the world grapples with these actions, we must continue speaking out against this horrific atrocity and call out the hate that has stemmed from it. Over 70,000 Palestinians have senselessly lost their lives-including a heartbreaking 20,000 children- and countless others have been displaced and left without access to food, water and medical care. How many more have to die before we have peace?
I continue to call on the Netanyahu government to end the violence in Gaza and the West Bank, for the Trump administration to bring the needless, immoral war in Iran to an end, and for our partners in the Gulf region to bring their considerable negotiating powers to the table to achieve freedom, security and self-determination for Israelis and Palestinians alike."
