Organizers of the Ig Nobel Talks, set for Jan. 30, 2027, in Fairbanks, are seeking funny but real science projects from across Alaska to highlight in a fundraiser for KUAC FM-TV.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host the event, which is styled after the international Ig Nobel Prizes. The prizes recognize the humorous side of serious science.
Program organizers are hoping to feature local research that's a little unusual, a little funny or just plain "Ig-worthy." Submissions from local scientists are allowed. However, nominations from colleagues, students and collaborators across Alaska are especially welcome.
KUAC, owned by UAF and based on the Troth Yeddha' Campus in Fairbanks, is Interior Alaska's largest public radio and television station.

Nominations should be sent to Brian Crandall at [email protected].
