As Lisa explores new ideas, she will partner closely with Brooke, who will take responsibility for overseeing our current shows in her role as director of Shows. Brooke joined The Times two years ago and from the first day she stepped in the building, she changed the way we work. She quickly hired and built the podcast video team from scratch, shaping editorial and visual strategy while building sustainable workflows.
If you enjoyed the newsroom concerts, or any number of viral clips from "The Interview," "Popcast," "Hard Fork" or "Modern Love," you can thank Brooke and her unflappable team. Brooke has overseen video interviews of Tucker Carlson in Maine and Gisèle Pelicot in Paris; in the newsroom, her team filmed Bad Bunny, Ed Sheeran and the Artemis II astronauts. And she's just getting started.
Brooke is a gifted editorial leader and a natural collaborator who seamlessly juggles multiple video teams in different cities while publishing several shows across all platforms while reimagining how The Times looks on screens.
Before joining The Times, Brooke served as editorial director at The Verge, where she oversaw audio and video strategy, and before that as Politico's video executive producer.
Brooke and Lisa will both report to me. "The Daily" and Serial will continue to operate as separate flagship shows outside of the Shows department, also reporting to me. Stay tuned for more updates soon.
