WASHINGTON - The U.S. Senate unanimously passed Senator Tim Scott's (R-S.C.) resolution designating September 2026 as National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The resolution recognizes the human toll of childhood cancer and pledges to make its prevention and cure a public health priority.
"No child or their family should face the fight against cancer alone," said Sen Scott. "Children should be focused on learning, growing, and following their dreams, yet these patients face their diagnosis every day with incredible strength and courage. I am glad to see the Senate unanimously pass my resolution to raise awareness of childhood cancer and honor all those in the fight against this disease."
The resolution was cosponsored by Sens. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), and Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.V.).
