The countdown is on. In just a few weeks, New Zealand will welcome the first ever high-level European Union - New Zealand Business Summit.
On 23-24 October, Hon Todd McClay, New Zealand Minister of Trade & Investment, European Union Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, Maroš Šefčovič together with Team Europe - the Ambassadors of the European Union and of the EU Member States - will convene 400 top business and political leaders at Auckland's picturesque waterfront. This high-level gathering will be a flagship moment for our partnership.
As with our Free Trade Agreement (FTA) - now delivering tangible benefits for exporters and investors - the Summit embodies what defines the EU-NZ relationship: secure, stable, and ambitious for people, prosperity and planet.
Business and political leaders will engage in strategic panels, high-impact B2B sessions and executive conversations on trade, investment, innovation, and the clean transition. From unlocking commercial opportunities under the FTA, to forging new collaborations in agritech, clean energy, and emerging technologies - this is where deals get made and partnerships are forged.
The programme begins with a welcome reception on 23 October, followed by a full day on 24 October, opened by Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and featuring an address from the European Union Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, Maroš Šefčovič. It will complement a busy conference season with a number of relevant events taking place around New Zealand.
In a changing global landscape, those who thrive are those who connect. The Summit is about turning shared challenges into shared opportunities, and ensuring Europe and New Zealand succeed together - stronger, faster, and at scale.
Attendance is by invitation only. To express your interest in attending, please contact the NZEBC, the relevant EU member state chamber of commerce, or the Delegation of the European Union to New Zealand.
