Harvard College awards students and faculty for excellence in undergraduate work and in the art of teaching

Funded by the estate of Thomas Hoopes '19, the Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize annually awards undergraduates and their supporting faculty for exemplary scholarly work and research across an array of disciplines, for the purpose of "promoting, improving, and enhancing the quality of education".

For the 2025-2026 academic year, 71 students, along with their faculty nominators, were chosen. Students were awarded $5000, faculty received $2000, and all written projects will be available in Lamont Library for two years.

See the full list of winners.

All undergraduate student projects are eligible for the Hoopes Prize-many winners are recognized for their thesis projects, including awardees Ari Kohn '26, Sean Meng '26, and Gauri Sood '26.
