MALAYSIA STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE ISRAELI MILITARY INTERCEPTION OF THE

GLOBAL SUMUD FLOTILLA

Malaysia strongly condemns the provocation and illegal interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) by the Israeli military in international waters on 29 April 2026. The Military action to block and intercept several humanitarian vessels, which were carrying essential medical supplies and food, is a blatant violation of international maritime law and international humanitarian law.

Malaysia reiterates that the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) is a peaceful humanitarian initiative aimed at delivering vital medical supplies and food to help stabilise a decimated healthcare system, and provide relief to a population facing genocide and starvation in Gaza.

Malaysia demands the immediate cessation of all forms of harassment against the humanitarian mission to ensure safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid as well as the safety and protection of all international activists on board. The Ministry is closely monitoring the situation and is actively gathering information regarding the condition and safety of all Malaysians on board the flotilla.

Malaysia calls upon the United Nations Security Council and the international community to take decisive action to hold the Israeli regime accountable for its persistent violations of international law.

Malaysia remains unwavering in its commitment to the Palestinian cause and will continue to advocate for the realisation of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
