NRCS in South Dakota Announces State Technical Committee Meeting

(Huron, SD, April 7, 2026) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) serving South Dakota (SD) is hosting the State Technical Committee (STC) meeting at 9 a.m. CDT until noon on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Capitol Lake Visitors Center, 650 East Capitol Avenue, Pierre, SD 57501.

The STC serves in an advisory capacity to NRCS and other USDA agencies on implementing natural resources conservation provisions of the Farm Bill. The upcoming session will include comments from Congressional staff, STC Steering Committee Members, the State Conservationist, and reports of subcommittees regarding action items from the September 2025 meeting and Fiscal Year 2026 updates.

Chaired by the NRCS State Conservationist in each state, committees meet regularly to provide information, analysis, and recommendations. The STC is intended to include members from a wide variety of natural resource and agricultural interests, including representatives from federal and state natural resource agencies, American Indian tribes, agricultural and environmental organizations, and agricultural producers.
