Wildfires that ravaged much of eastern Oregon in 2024 left many scars at Idaho Power's Daly Creek Habitat Management Area.
Now Idaho Power employees are giving Mother Nature a helping hand to restore this important area. Tractors, giant drones, and a helicopter are all tools being used to give sagebrush, native grasses, wildflowers, and a host of other native plants a leg up on invasive cheatgrass. That's good news for wildlife ranging from elk and bighorn sheep to butterflies and birds that rely on this 10,000-acre property.
Idaho Power has produced a short video showing the early stages of the recovery. Watch it on the company's YouTube channel, and learn more about Idaho Power's habitat management areas at idahopower.com/habitat.
Idaho Power owns and maintains over 25,000 acres of wildlife habitat in the Hells Canyon, C.J. Strike, and Hagerman areas under terms of its federal licenses to operate hydroelectric projects on the Snake River.
