The unhealthy air quality due to the wildfires continues.
At the time of this publication (just after 8am), conditions are slightly improved compared to yesterday (7/16/26).
The Streets Division drop-off sites are open for City of Madison residents for their normal Friday hours. Sites are minimally staffed.
However, should air quality conditions worsen the drop-off sites will close, just like they did on Thursday.
If the drop-off sites close, we will post the announcement on the Streets Division website, and send out notices to residents who have signed up to receive email updates about our services. You can sign up to receive email updates about our services on our website.
If you are choosing to use a drop-off site today, do not anticipate help unloading from staff today due to the unhealthy air quality. The sites will be self-service.
Streets Division staff will be monitoring the air quality throughout the day, and adjustments to drop-off sites and other operations for the health and safety of staff will be made as needed.
For additional information about Streets Division services, please contact our offices.
