On 7 May 2026, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Idibek Kalandar, and Mr. Seiju Imai, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the Republic of Tajikistan, on the occasion of the completion of his mission in the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, Mr. Yoshimasa Takemura, the newly appointed Chief Representative of JICA in the Republic of Tajikistan, was also introduced.
The parties discussed topical issues of Tajik-Japanese cooperation. In this context, the steady development of cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres was highlighted.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to Mr. Seiju Imai for his significant personal contribution to the development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation, and wished the newly appointed Chief Representative of JICA success in his responsible mission and the achievement of all intended goals.
