Roll with our dawgs for homecoming and family day events


Join the festivities on Saturday, Oct. 18, as the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point celebrates Homecoming and Family Day, with activities for Pointers of all ages.

Activities will be offered at the Homecoming Hotspot from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Goerke Park in Stevens Point. This year's Homecoming Hotspot features:

  • Alumni reunions
  • Food trucks, including Stevie's
  • *A Stormy Kromer Pop-Up tent selling UWSP branded hats
  • College showcases
  • Axe throwing for all ages
  • Homecoming giveaways (while supplies last)
  • Inflatable games
  • DJ and photobooth
  • UWSP merch for sale
  • Pointer Pep Band

*$20 from each UWSP branded Stormy Kromer sold will support UWSP!

The Pointers football team takes on the UW-River Falls Falcons at 1 p.m. at Goerke Field. Tickets may be purchased at the gate that day. In addition, the Pointer men's and women's tennis teams will face the St. Norbert Green Knights at 11 a.m., and women's soccer takes on the UW-River Falls Falcons at 1 p.m. at the UWSP campus.

Planetarium programs will run hourly between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday except for the noon hour. Shows will be held in the Allen F. Blocher Planetarium on the second floor of the Science Building and are free and open to the public.

UWSP Doctor of Physical Therapy students will host a 5K race through Schmeeckle Reserve at 10 a.m. on October 18. For more information and registration visit runsignup.com/Race/WI/StevensPoint/UWSPHomecoming5K.

During the week, student activities will include canoe "Battleship" and a shark themed movie night in Champions Hall pool, bingo and trivia. Learn more at spin.uwsp.edu/events?topic_tags=6577392

Several competitions open to students, faculty and staff will take place throughout the week, including the annual bed races. More information at uwsp.edu/student-homecoming-events/.

In addition, the UWSP Alumni Board's fall meeting will take place during Homecoming week. The UWSP Alumni Board welcomes three new members this fall. John Harry, '09, Executive Director of the Portage County Historical Society, Liz Gross Ph.D., '04, Founder and CEO of Campus Sonar and Hazle Crawford, '18, Deputy Chief of Staff for Council Member Natali Fani-Gonzalez in Washington, D.C.

On Sunday, Oct. 6, join current students from 1-3 p.m. for a community-wide clean-up led by the UWSP Student Government Association. Email [email protected] for information.
