House Republicans United in Support of America’s Rural Communities

WASHINGTON-House Republicans today advanced H. Res. 1182, a resolution led by Rep. Clay Fuller (R-Ga.). This resolution recognizes the vital role rural communities play in powering our economy, feeding our families, producing our energy, and driving growth across the country.

House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) and Rep. Fuller released the following statements:

"Rural communities are the backbone of this country, but too often they are treated like an afterthought in Washington," Chairwoman McClain said. "That is not how Republicans see it. We are focused on providing support to these communities and making sure they have plenty of opportunity to grow. These communities keep America running; they deserve policies that actually back them up."

"For too long rural communities like mine have been an afterthought in Washington," Congressman Fuller said. "I'm honored that the hardworking people of Northwest Georgia entrusted me to come to the Capitol to fight for them, and proud to have introduced this resolution that makes very clear who is fighting for rural communities, and who's not. We will continue working in the days, weeks, and months ahead to fight for the folks back at home."
