MoDOT to reconfigure the Route T and Veterans Memorial Parkway intersection at Foristell

ST. CHARLES COUNTY - Crews with the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project will continue work on the Interstate 70 and Route T/W interchange at Foristell by constructing the new Route T and Veterans Memorial Parkway intersection Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 21. All work is weather permitting.

Throughout the week, Route T and Veterans Memorial Parkway will be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing traffic through the intersection from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Beginning Wednesday, August 19, the intersection will be reconfigured with Veterans Memorial Parkway being required to stop. Route T traffic will no longer have to stop and will proceed to the new southern roundabout.

This reconfiguration is part of the overall interchange improvements to improve traffic flow for the area. Greater amounts of traffic utilize Route T; therefore, it was determined that this movement should continue through and Veterans Memorial Parkway should stop. Also, this configuration reduces the potential for Route T traffic to conflict with the railroad crossing.

To ensure safety as the final phases of interchange construction occur, the commuter parking lot will temporarily close starting Friday, August 14 through Friday, August 28. Motorists who regularly use this lot are encouraged to make alternate parking arrangements prior to the closure date. Signs and message boards will be placed near the commuter parking lot to alert motorists to the upcoming temporary closure.

Motorists are encouraged to pay attention in work zones, drive the posted work zone speed limit, and allow extra time for travel. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

This work is part of the second project in MoDOT's Statewide Improve I-70 Program. Improve I-70: Warrenton to Wentzville is a $600 million Design-Build project that will improve the 20-mile stretch of I-70 between Warrenton and Wentzville. The project was awarded to the Improve 70 Alliance team in November 2024. Construction is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2028.

Missouri's FY2024 budget, approved through the state legislative process and signed into law by the governor, provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
