Addis Releases Statement Following Military Training Jet Crash off SLO County Coast

SAN LUIS OBISPO - Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay), released the following statement following reports of a military training jet crash Tuesday evening off the coast of Morro Bay:

"I am grateful to the professionals at the Navy and Coast Guard who responded swiftly to reports of a military jet crash Tuesday evening off the coast of Morro Bay and safely rescued the pilot involved. Our Central Coast is protected by Coast Guard personnel stationed in both Monterey and Morro Bay. They are a national asset and vital to the safety and well-being of our Central Coast and I am grateful to the service members who answered the call and responded quickly to help."

Officials are encouraging the public to report any debris or pollution in the water to the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach.

Dawn Addis was elected to the California State Assembly in 2022 to represent the coastal 30th Assembly District, which includes San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Cruz Counties. She is the Chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee 1 on Health.
