Attack in Erbil: President Meloni’s condolence message

Both personally and on behalf of the Italian Government, I express deepest condolences to France following the death of one of the soldiers involved in another, unjustifiable attack in Erbil. Our thoughts are with his family and the French authorities at this painful time.

I also convey my wishes for a speedy recovery to the other military personnel who were injured, hoping that they recover quickly and fully.

Alongside its international partners, including the Gulf countries most affected, Italy remains firmly committed to fostering a reduction in tensions. We will continue working with determination to ensure that peace and stability are restored in the region.
