Red Beak Productions to host film professional Dan Katzman for student lecture

Red Beak Productions will host a guest lecture featuring film and television professional Dan Katzman on Friday, March 27 at Lamar University. The event will begin at 5 p.m. in COMM 103 and is open to all students.

Katzman, a first assistant director and producer with more than three decades of experience, has worked across major film and television productions, collaborating with studios and networks including Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, Netflix and Paramount. His credits include work on large-scale productions such as the film Happy Death Day.

The event is organized by Red Beak Productions with support from faculty advisor Gordon Williams and is aimed at students interested in careers in film and media.

"This event will benefit students interested in film and media who want to learn more about working on big budget films from someone who has true knowledge of that landscape," Adam Baeza, president of Red Beak Productions said. "It allows students to gain an understanding of the larger world of film and television."

Baeza said Katzman's experience working on major productions will give students insight into both the creative and logistical aspects of filmmaking, including collaboration on set and navigating large-scale projects.
