CTDOT Is Developing Plans to Upgrade Pedestrian Amenities at in Southwestern Connecticut

accommodations in Southwestern Connecticut. The project involves revising the pedestrian amenities at existing traffic control signals. The work will include pedestals, pedestrian countdown signal heads, accessible pedestrian push buttons, signing and pavement markings, sidewalks and sidewalk ramps.

The project is located at the following intersections in various municipalities in Southwestern Connecticut:

  • Route 1 At Branhaven Plaza in Branford
  • Us Route 1 At Wells Street in Bridgeport
  • Route 1 At Sr 722 and Glenwood Avenue in Bridgeport
  • Sr 722 At Route 8 & 25 Southbound Ramps and Reservoir Avenue in Bridgeport
  • Route 1 At Norman Street in Bridgeport
  • Route 1 At William Street in Bridgeport
  • Route 127 At Ogden Street in Bridgeport
  • Route 1 At Ledge Road, Leroy Ave, and I-95 Southbound Off-Ramp in Darien
  • Route 126 At Cliff Avenue Darien
  • Route 1 at Fair Street and North Fair Streetin Guilford
  • Route 1 at Longhill Road & Drive to Strawberry Hill S.C.in Guilford
  • I-95 Nb Off-Ramp at SR 708 and Old Gate Lane in Milford
  • Route 1 and Commercial Drivewaysin Milford
  • Route 80 at Driveways in New Haven
  • SR 717 at Route 40 Southbound Ramps and Hartford Turnpike in North Haven
  • SR 719 at Ward Street in Norwalk
  • Route 1 at Pepperidge Farm Driveway and Hills Road in Norwalk
  • Sr 719 (Main Avenue) At Broad Street in Norwalk
  • Route 1 at Route 114 and Old Tavern Road in Orange
  • Route 111 at Stonehouse Road in Trumbull
  • Route 68 at Northrop Road and Miles Drive in Wallingford
  • Route 5 at Drive to Bj's and Driveway to Sonics in Wallingford
  • Route 1 at Farwell Street in West Haven
  • Route 63 at Route 114 (Center Road) in Woodbridge
  • Route 63 at Route 67 (Seymour Road) in Woodbridge

The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in December 2027, with construction anticipated to start in the summer of 2028, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with 90% federal and 10% state funds.
