Norton Rose Fulbright represents Midea Group in landmark Electrolux transactions

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright represented Midea Group, a global technology and home appliance company, in a series of strategic joint ventures and acquisitions with Electrolux Group, which expand the companies' manufacturing, distribution and commercial collaboration across North America. The transactions, which closed in October 2026, mark a major milestone in the companies' long-term strategic partnership and establish a platform to accelerate innovation, enhance operational efficiency and support long-term sustainable growth.

Among the deals was Midea's acquisition of a 65 percent interest in Electrolux's refrigeration manufacturing business in Juarez, Mexico and a 65 percent interest in a US refrigeration manufacturing joint venture. The parties also established a 50/50 US-Canada sales and distribution joint venture for refrigeration products as well as a US laundry manufacturing joint venture in South Carolina involving both cash and asset contributions from both parties.

"The scope of these transactions reflects the strategic alignment between the parties and their shared focus on strengthening manufacturing and commercial operations across North America," said Siyuan An, who led Norton Rose Fulbright's representation. "Together, the acquisitions and joint ventures create a framework for deeper collaboration across key product lines and markets, and support a significant long-term commitment to innovation, manufacturing and growth in North America."
