Finland and Ukraine deepen defence and security cooperation
President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed an agreement on enhanced defence and security cooperation between Finland and Ukraine on Wednesday 23 September in New York.
The agreement deepens defence and security cooperation between Finland and Ukraine and strengthens the defence capabilities, industrial cooperation and technological development of both countries.
"Ukraine needs all our support in its defence. At the same time, the cooperation is mutually beneficial. By learning from Ukraine's experience, we are strengthening our own capabilities," President Stubb emphasises.
The agreement enables, among other things, the transfer of technology, knowledge and expertise between the two countries, as well as joint industrial projects, for example in the development of drone technology.
In Finland, the Ministry of Defence is responsible for the practical implementation of the agreement.
