In response to a critical need for healthcare professionals, Adelphi has announced a fully online healthcare administration undergraduate degree.
The job outlook for medical and health services managers is strong, with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicting a 23 percent employment rate of growth for medical and health services managers between 2024 and 2034-a rate that is significantly greater than the average for all other occupations.
Drawing on Adelphi's historic strength in nursing and public health as well as business administration, its new online bachelor's degree in healthcare administration has been designed to prepare the next generation of skilled and strategic healthcare leaders.
"We are excited about the fully online BS in Healthcare Administration program that will be available to a broad range of students who are keen to enter the medical world at a moment of transformation," said Interim Provost Susan E. Dinan, PhD.
She explained, "Hospitals and other healthcare facilities need well-educated administrators who can guide them from a business perspective and help establish consistent policies, sound financial management and astute planning for incorporating AI and other technologies into the institutions."
The new BS in Healthcare Administration program is in keeping with the innovative degree programs that fuel Adelphi's growing reputation for academic distinction. Working professionals benefit from the fully online, asynchronous, full- and part-time flexibility of the new degree program. Additionally, it welcomes transfer students with up to 90 credits, making it a perfect choice for those looking to complete a bachelor's degree.
Expert faculty, including experienced healthcare practitioners and professors, guide students through a uniquely well-rounded approach that includes liberal arts and core courses in healthcare and business. Students have the additional flexibility to align coursework with their specific career goals.
Students graduate not only with an understanding of leadership and management in the healthcare administration field, but also with the skills and knowledge necessary to make a positive impact in a critical field.
Earning the degree jump-starts preparation for the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) certification exam-a vital credential for executive roles.
Most important, online students can access supportive faculty ready to offer guidance every step of the way, along with comprehensive career support from the Adelphi Center for Career and Professional Development, which connects students with recruitment programs, job fairs, internship opportunities and services such as Handshake, an online service that employers use to recruit Adelphi students and alumni.
