City Awarded $955k for Pavement Preservation on Harbor Blvd

The City of West Sacramento has been awarded $955,000 in grant funding from the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) through its System Preservation Program.

The funding will support pavement preservation improvements along Harbor Boulevard between West Capitol Avenue and Rice Avenue. Work will include pavement preservation strategies designed to smooth the roadway, address potholes, and improve overall road conditions. Harbor Boulevard is an important connection for the community, providing access to jobs, schools, shopping, essential services, and a regional freight route.

Preserving and maintaining existing roads helps the City extend the life of its infrastructure while reducing the need for more costly future repairs. The project is part of the City's ongoing efforts to maintain safe, reliable, and well-maintained roadways throughout West Sacramento.

As a recipient of this year's System Preservation Program funding, West Sacramento joins communities across the Sacramento region in investing in preserving and improving key roadways.
