Carrollton to Accept Community Funding Applications May 1

The City of Carrollton is accepting applications for Community Funding as part of the annual budgeting process. The intention of the program is to augment the efforts of local nonprofits and organizations whose programs and services directly benefit the Carrollton community and to ensure residents and groups feel supported.

The City desires to assist in the funding when the City Council, in its sole discretion, deems it appropriate and feasible for the purpose of encouraging the ethnic, cultural, historic, health-related, recreational, or environmental aspects of Carrollton in ways that are not already provided in or by the City.

All requests will be evaluated through an application review, ensuring all requests can enter into agreements for specific measurable services and ensure funding recipients are held accountable for providing the agreed upon services within the specified time frame. Requests for funding received from organizations will be considered during a fixed period annually.

Applying for funds does not ensure the request will be granted. Funding for the program is limited, and some applications, while worthy, will not be funded due to the limited resources. The decision to fund a request, or not, and the amount to be funded is made by the City Council in its sole discretion. The intention is to evaluate each proposal and provide funding to those organizations which most effectively serve the needs and improve the well-being of the residents of Carrollton. The City also places a higher priority on services that have broad community appeal. Additional information, an interview, or presentation to the Community Funding Committee may be required.

Applications will be accepted beginning Friday, May 1 through Monday, June 1 no later than 5:30 p.m., and can be submitted via email, regular mail, or in person at City Hall (1945 E. Jackson Road).
