Lotta Nevala to start as Director of Customer Services at the University in Helsinki

The new head of the Joint Service Unit brings extensive experience in managing customer services and service operations in municipal organisations, start-ups and corporations.

Lotta Nevala, MSc (Econ.), has been appointed as the new Director of Customer Services at the University of Helsinki. She will begin as the head of the Joint Service Unit in early June.

Lotta Nevala has broad experience in managing customer service units and service operations. After graduating from the University of Oulu, she worked for six years at Kunnan Taitoa Oy and Sarastia Oy, a financial services centre owned by municipalities.

At the beginning of 2020, Lotta Nevala moved to MOST Digital Oy, a start-up operating in the field of robotic process automation. The listed company Digia acquired MOST Digital in spring 2022, and since the beginning of 2023 the unit has operated within Digia as an AI automation unit. During these years, Lotta Nevala worked in customer-facing roles and was responsible for client relationships, led and expanded teams and business operations, and carried out customer service tasks, among other duties.

Head of Administration Esa Hämäläinen is very pleased to welcome her to University Services.

"Lotta's experience in customer service leadership roles at both Digia Oyj and Sarastia Oy is a valuable addition as we continue developing the unit's newly established customer service unit and the physical service points to meet the needs of university staff, students and external customers," says Hämäläinen.
