Slovenia receives EUR 41 million in European recovery and resilience funding

Slovenia satisfactorily fulfilled all 15 milestones and targets under its sixth payment request, which it submitted to Brussels in March this year. The request covered the eighth grant instalment. The gross value of the instalment amounted to EUR 89.53 million under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, while the net amount disbursed was EUR 41 million. In calculating the final payment, the European Commission proportionately took into account the pre-financing of grants under the Recovery and Resilience Facility that Slovenia had received in previous years.

The funds received will be allocated by the ministries to projects that are still under implementation and contribute to achieving the target values of the milestones and targets linked to the ninth grant instalment and the fourth loan instalment.

To date, Slovenia has received a total of EUR 1.81 billion under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, representing 86.9% of the total funding available, of which EUR 1.34 billion are grants and EUR 0.47 billion are loans. Based on the payment requests successfully completed to date, Slovenia has officially fulfilled 122 of the 182 milestones and targets. The remaining milestones and targets will be included in the seventh and final payment request, with a total value of just under EUR 272 million.

The implementation of the measures under the Recovery and Resilience Plan is now in its final phase. All outstanding activities related to fulfilling the remaining milestones and targets and demonstrating their fulfilment must be completed by 31 August 2026. Slovenia will be able to receive the remaining funding in full, provided that it satisfactorily fulfils all the milestones and targets related to the final payment request and does not reverse the milestones and targets relating to the investments and reforms for which funding has already been disbursed under previous payment requests.

According to the ministries' assessment, 26 of the 60 milestones and targets included in the final payment request have been fulfilled to date. This means that the target values have been achieved and all supporting evidence has been submitted, providing satisfactory assurance that the relevant milestones and targets have been fulfilled. The remaining 34 milestones and targets are in the final stages of completion.

From the start of the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan until the end of July 2026, the State disbursed EUR 1.7 billion to final recipients for project activities carried out under the Plan. Of this amount, approximately EUR 400 million was disbursed in 2026.
