"Pack the Pantry" on Nov. 18 for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

November 12, 2025

Join WWU's Western Hub of Living Essentials (WHOLE) for "Pack the Pantry," a Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week event, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18 in Red Square. We will have a van ready to fill with donations of non-perishable food and hygiene products.

This is an incredible opportunity to rally your department, your colleagues and friends to show up as a community for our students. 45.4% of Western students surveyed report food insecurity. We know that for students to thrive and persist in their education they need access to good food.

The WHOLE Pantry, located in Viking Union 435, is seeing record numbers of student visits, having more than tripled our weekly numbers supporting students experiencing food insecurity.

Let's go Western - we are a community that cares!
