Open enrollment for 2027 benefits is now underway. Employees must review and submit their benefit elections by Saturday, Oct. 31. Detailed plan information, premium rates, frequently asked questions and decision-support resources are available at utoledo.edu/open-enrollment.
Employees selecting medical coverage for a spouse must complete the spousal eligibility process during open enrollment. A spouse who has access to medical coverage through their own employer and who meets salary and premium requirements must enroll in that employer's plan. A spouse without access to employer-sponsored medical coverage may remain eligible for UToledo coverage, subject to verification requirements. Dependent children are not affected by this change. Spouses remain eligible for dental and vision coverage.
Employees with an HSA (health savings account) or FSA (flexible spending account) must actively enter their 2027 election. HSA and FSA elections do not carry forward. Employees selecting the medical Blue Plan must select the HSA to receive the employer contribution. Employees must upload any required documentation by Monday, Nov. 16.
To begin, log in to the myUT Portal and select "Open Enrollment." After submitting elections, review the confirmation email sent to your UToledo email address. If you do not receive a confirmation email, return to the enrollment portal or contact Total Rewards and Benefits.
For questions, email [email protected] or call 419.530.4747, Option 4, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Consultation and live chat details are available at utoledo.edu/open-enrollment.
