Ambulatory Surgery Center Opens in Olathe

Olathe, Kan. - The University of Kansas Health System is proud to announce the opening of its Quivira Ambulatory Surgery Center at 12000 W. 151st Street in Olathe, located on the second floor of the Quivira Campus.

The surgery center is another way the health system is delivering on its promise to bring specialty care closer to home for more people in the Kansas City metro area. This expands access to outpatient surgeries and procedures in a modern facility, designed with patient experience in mind.

At full capacity, the surgery center will have 10 operating rooms and 35 pre-op/post-anesthesia care bays. This will accommodate more than 6,000 procedures per year in these specialties:

• Ear, nose and throat
• General surgery
• Gynecology
• Orthopedics
• Plastic surgery
• Urology

There will be several notable procedures available at the Quivira Ambulatory Surgery Center. It is the first ASC in the health system to provide outpatient gynecological surgery and same-day total joint replacement.

This is the third ASC in the health system, joining Indian Creek in Overland Park and KU MedWest in Shawnee.
