New exhibition showcases local artists at The Windbreaks outdoor gallery

The exhibition brings together two artists whose work explores light, water and the coastal environment through contrasting styles. Camille's expressive oil paintings capture the changing beauty of seascapes and skies, while Stephanie's abstract works focus on the patterns created where light, wind and currents meet on the water's surface. Their complementary colour palettes and differing artistic approaches made them an ideal pairing for the exhibition.

The artists were selected through an open call for local artists to showcase their work on the ten large-scale display panels that make up The Windbreaks. They are the ninth and tenth artists to be exhibited since the gallery launched in December 2024.

The Windbreaks was installed as part of the Southsea Coastal Scheme, which is building new sea defences and enhancing 4.5km of Southsea seafront. The exhibition programme provides a unique opportunity for local artists to display their work in a prominent seafront location visited by thousands of residents and visitors each year.
