Ronny Glanton, PGA, head professional at the City of Richardson's Sherrill Park Golf Course, was named this week as one of six inductees in the PGA of America's distinguished 2025 Hall of Fame Class.
Glanton was previously inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 2022. Additionally, in 2020, he was named the PGA of America's Golf Professional of the Year, awarded for qualities of leadership, strong moral character, and a substantial record of service to the PGA and the game of golf.
"This new, national recognition is truly humbling, and I am tremendously grateful to the PGA of America and my fellow members," said Glanton. "I want to thank the City of Richardson and my team at Sherrill Park for supporting my work and for all they do to continue promoting the wonderful game of golf in our community."
The PGA Hall of Fame is the organization's highest award for members. The Hall of Fame honors members who through their lives, careers, service, and support have made significant and enduring contributions to the PGA in its mission to grow the game of golf. This year's induction ceremony will take place November 5, 2025, in Frisco, Texas.
Ronny's Richardson History
Glanton's career began at Sherrill Park Golf Course in 1981, and he has spent the past 40 years as head professional at the course, which is ranked among Texas' top municipal golf facilities. A PGA of America member since 1984, he manages all golf operations including rounds, food and beverage, teaching, property renovations, and course maintenance for the over 300-acre facility. Glanton has created a culture that enables people from all walks of life to embrace the game in a welcoming environment.

Recognition and Accolades
Ronny has been recognized as the NTPGA Golf Professional of the Year (1999, '07, '19), with the NTPGA Bill Strausbaugh Award (2003-05, '08, '14), and as the NTPGA Merchandiser of the Year (1994). As mentioned, he was inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 2022.
Glanton actively supports his colleagues, raising over $100,000 through pro-ams for PGA Members facing medical hardships. He's also been a four-time contestant in the PGA Professional Championship, five-time contestant in the Senior PGA Professional National Championship, and seven-time participant in the PGA TOUR Byron Nelson (now the CJ Cup Byron Nelson). Glanton is also a three-time NTPGA Major Champion, six-time Senior Division Major Champion, and a 17-time member of the NTPGA Joe Black Cup Team, which he has also captained three times.
Twice serving as President of the Northern Texas PGA Section (2006-07, 2018-2019), Glanton played a key role in the PGA of America's relocation to Frisco, Texas. He is a passionate advocate for junior golf, developing impactful programs like the Sherrill Park Learning Center and the Hawks Junior Golf Team, which have introduced thousands of new golfers to the game. His leadership in the creation of "The Ronny" Golf Park on the PGA Frisco campus further expands community outreach and player development.
