The Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center at UToledo Health is now offering Saturday infusion appointments, expanding access for patients receiving intravenous cancer therapies and other infusion-based treatments. Appointments are available beginning Saturday, July 11.

"Simply put, your fight doesn't take weekends off, and neither should access to the care and support that can make a difference," said Chris Seilhamer, administrative director of the Dana Cancer Center. "Expanding infusion services to Saturdays ensures that patients have greater access to the treatments they need, when they need them most."

The Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center at UToledo Health is now offering Saturday infusion appointments, expanding access for patients receiving intravenous cancer therapies and other infusion-based treatments.

The expanded Saturday hours are designed to give patients greater scheduling flexibility - allowing them to receive treatment without taking time away from work, family or other daily responsibilities.

Saturday appointments are available for patients across all cancer types and disease stages, including those receiving neoadjuvant therapy, adjuvant therapy and treatment for metastatic disease. Saturday clinician visits are also available, including follow-up visits and symptom and toxicity evaluations.

"Adding the option for weekend infusion therapy for some of our patients allows expanded accessibility for our community outside of typical weekday hours," said medical oncologist Dr. Danae Hamouda. "Weekend availability allows patients the option to receive necessary treatment without interrupting work or weekday commitments and may help our patients maintain timely and consistent essential infusion-related medical treatments for cancer and other chronic diseases."

The Dana Cancer Center provides advanced, comprehensive care for a wide range of malignancies including breast, colorectal, lung and prostate cancers, as well as lymphoma and leukemia. The infusion center also offers non-oncology infusion therapies for patients managing Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, cardiovascular disease and allergies.

To refer a patient or schedule an appointment, call 419.383.6644. Appointments are now being scheduled for July 11 and beyond.
