Looking for a four-legged best friend? Meet Hooch (A2311485), a fun-loving, water-loving, people-loving pup who has been waiting for his happily-ever-after at PBCACC since early May. He is currently the shelter's longest resident, and after more than 175 days of waiting, this sweet boy deserves to know what it feels like to finally belong to a family of his own.
Hooch is a water dog through and through! Give him a pool to splash in or a hose to chase, and you'll see his playful personality shine. But as much as he loves water and playtime, one of his favorite things is simply being close to his people. Sit down beside him, offer some pets, and watch his face light up. Sometimes, the happiest moments are the simplest ones: a little affection, a tennis ball, and someone who wants to be near you.
Hooch is also a shelter Daycation-approved dog, which means he's had the chance to enjoy adventures out in the world with different people. And the reviews? They speak straight to the heart:
"A fun bundle of loving, puppy energy. He enjoys chasing his toys and chewing on them, too. He is muscular, nimble and spry. When you sit on the couch next to him, his beautiful, expressive face lights up. He is in total heaven sitting next to you and chewing on a tennis ball.
Hooch is alert and smart. He listens well and knows how to sit. He is great company and a fun, active companion."
Can you imagine what it would mean for Hooch to have that kind of happiness every day? To have a couch that's always his, a yard where he can play, toys that belong to him, and a person who comes home to him night after night? After spending so many months waiting for someone to choose him, Hooch deserves a chance to stop waiting and start living.
Hooch can play with other dogs, but he prefers doing his own thing, so he may be happiest as your one-and-only furry companion. He has so much love and life to share with the right family. He just needs someone willing to give him that chance.
And there's even more good news! Because Hooch is the shelter's longest resident, he qualifies for the Housewarming Gift Program. When he finds his family, he'll head home with a crate, a large bag of food, three months of preventatives and other goodies to help him start his new life on the right paw!
Please don't let Hooch spend another day waiting. Share his story, tell a friend, or better yet, come meet him. You could be the person who changes his whole world. And in return, you might just find a loyal, playful, affectionate best friend who makes your world a little brighter, too.
