Abrams Road Traffic Update
Lane Closures Planned on Abrams Road Aug. 24, 25 and 27
Various lane closures will be in place along Abrams Road between Highland Boulevard and Spring Valley Road from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24; Tuesday, Aug. 25; and Thursday, Aug. 27, while crews complete remaining storm drain repairs.
Though repairs are being completed using trenchless methods, temporary lane closures will be required at various locations so crews can safely access the storm drain system.
Work on Monday and Tuesday will affect southbound Abrams Road between Highland Boulevard and Pittman Street. On Thursday, work will affect northbound Abrams Road between Highland Boulevard and Pittman Street, as well as the intersection of Abrams Road and Spring Valley Road.
No work is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 26, because the Math Science Technology Magnet Elementary School has an early release at 1:10 p.m. Crews will conclude work by 2:30 p.m. on the other scheduled days to avoid interfering with the school's regular 3:10 p.m. dismissal and traffic from buses and parents.
Drivers should use caution near the work areas and allow extra travel time while the repairs are completed.
