Negros Occidental Gov. Bong Lacson, together with Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II, led the distribution of checks totaling P40 million to seven local government units (LGUs) in the province as beneficiaries of the Typhoon Tino Financial Assistance from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The ceremonial distribution was held this morning at the Capitol Social Hall and was attended by Mayors Ella Yulo of Moises Padilla, Miguel Yulo of Isabela, Jose Maria Alonso of Pontevedra, Mayette Javellana-Yao of Bago City, and Mary Grace Arceo of Hinigaran, among others.
Under the assistance program, the national government allotted P10 million each to the municipalities of La Castellana and Moises Padilla, as well as La Carlota City; P5 million each to Bago City, Binalbagan, and Hinigaran; and P2.5 million each to Isabela and Pontevedra. The funds are intended to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for communities affected by Typhoon Tino.
The P10-million allocation for La Carlota City will be released upon compliance with the required legal documents.*
