Gov. Rhoden Signs Taking Care of People Bills into Law
PIERRE, S.D. - Today, Governor Larry Rhoden signed eight bills that emphasize taking care of people.
"In South Dakota, we take care of our people, and we work hard to ensure our state is the best place to live," said Governor Larry Rhoden. "These bills further strengthen our commitment to people by providing South Dakotans with the protections and services they need to thrive."
Governor Rhoden signed the following eight bills into law:

SB 14modifies provisions related to the practice of pharmacy;

SB 81clarifies the prohibition on injuring or harassing a service animal.

SB 82prohibits the misrepresentation of an animal as a service animal and provides a penalty therefor;

SB 87clarifies and establishes requirements related to forensic medical examinations;

HB 1101prohibits an insurer from declining or limiting life, disability, or long-term care insurance policies based solely on an individual's status as a living organ donor;

HB 1143authorizes the possession and self-administration of diabetes medications by a student on school property and at school-related events and activities;

HB 1146adopts the physician assistant licensure compact; and
-
HB 1219requires the provision of interpreter or translator services for parties to an administrative contested case.
Governor Rhoden has signed 105 bills into law and vetoed one this legislative session.
