APG Closes Clayton Senior Housing Land Sale

Nearly a year after securing unanimous rezoning approval, APG Advisors has successfully completed the $1.85 million sale of a 7.3-acre site in Clayton to Dominium. The transaction clears the way for a new 167-unit affordable senior housing community in the Riverwood area.

David Batten, Senior Vice President and Broker-in-Charge with APG Advisors, represented the ownership through the multi-year marketing, rezoning, and sales processes. This closing marks the culmination of a decades long vision to bring high-quality, accessible senior housing to the area, complemented by planned roadway, pedestrian, and landscape improvements.

"This closing represents much more than a successful transaction," said Batten. "It's very rewarding to see a project move from concept and rezoning through closing, knowing it will provide a meaningful, high-quality housing option for Clayton's growing senior population."

The project also reflects APG Founder & CEO Jim Anthony's over 30-year commitment to Clayton. Having played an instrumental role in assembling the original land for the Riverwood community, Anthony has helped shape the town's growth through numerous commercial, redevelopment, and economic development projects spanning more than four decades.

With the land sale completed, Dominium, a leading national affordable housing developer, will move forward with construction. APG will maintain a long-term interest in the area's growth through an adjacent planned neighborhood retail parcel.
