FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 8, 2025
Pueblo, CO-The Pueblo Police Department, in coordination with the U.S. Marshals' Colorado Violent Offender Task Force and the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, arrested Dameron Carbajal, 17, and Cristian Jaramillo, 17, on Oct. 3, 2025. Carbajal and Jaramillo escaped from the Spring Creek Correctional Youth Services Center in Colorado Springs on Sept. 22, 2025.
On Oct. 8, 2025, at 12:30 a.m. Pueblo Police received a call for an agency assist with the U.S. Marshals in the 1000 block of West 13th St.
Upon arrival, Pueblo PD officers were informed that the escaped juveniles were located inside an apartment and initially the Marshalls thought there would be a potential standoff. Thankfully, the juveniles were taken into custody without incident. Additional parties on scene were also arrested - Dylan Vanluven, 22, on two felony warrants for Fugitive of Justice, and Guadalupe Valdez, 38, on a misdemeanor warrant for Failure to Appear - Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Several handguns and rifles with modification switches were located in the apartment. Carbajal and Jaramillo were transported to Pueblo Youth Services Center. Vanluven and Valdez were transported to the Pueblo County Jail.
At the time of their escape, Carabajal was serving a 5-year sentence after being adjudicated/convicted for attempted murder and Jaramillo was serving a 4-year sentence after being adjudicated/convicted for felony kidnapping. Both sentences are from Pueblo County.
