Vice Mayor Henderson Appoints 2026-2027 Committee Chairs

Via memorandum earlier today, Vice Mayor Angie E. Henderson announced Metro Council 2026-2027 Standing Committee Chairs and updated committee membership assignments.

The newly appointed chairs for 2026-2027 are as follows:

• Budget & Finance: Jason Spain

• Transportation & Infrastructure: Quin Evans Segall

• Public Health & Safety: Jeff Preptit

• Government Operations & Regulations: Jeff Eslick

• Arts, Parks, Libraries, & Entertainment: Terry Vo

• Rules, Confirmations, & Public Elections: Sandra Sepulveda

• Charter Revision: Clay Capp

The Planning & Zoning Committee will continue to be chaired by Rollin Horton, who was elected to a two-year term by the Council in 2025. The Ad Hoc East Bank Committee will be chaired by Sean Parker.

Appointed chairs will oversee their first meetings on Monday, August 31 and Tuesday, September 1, and have been asked to select a vice chair by Friday, August 28.

The Vice Mayor expressed special thanks to the 2025-2026 committee chairs, all of whom have prepared a transition memo to ensure that the Council maintains institutional memory and continuity in its work efforts.

"I am grateful to those council members who have agreed to retain or accept a leadership role for the coming year," said Henderson. "Many other members continue to represent the Council on a variety of Boards & Commissions, whether by my appointment or election by the Council, and I appreciate their service as well."

Vice Mayor Henderson concluded, "As we come to the final year of the term, every council member has multiple projects in progress that deserve their attention, and it is my privilege to support them in all facets of their service to Nashville."
