Taft Adds Project Finance Partner Gregory K. Smith in Washington, D.C.

Taft, one of the fastest growing law firms in the country, announced today that Gregory K. Smith has joined the firm as a partner in Washington, D.C. He arrives from Morrison Foerster.

Smith brings deep experience advising lenders, sponsors, and host governments on the development and financing of major projects across a wide range of industries, including energy, manufacturing, mining, petrochemicals, power, semiconductors, telecommunications, and transportation. With two offices in the nation's capital, Smith will be based in Taft's DuPont Circle office.

Smith is widely regarded as one of the leading lawyers in the world for complex financings involving government and multilateral entities. Over the course of his career, he has served as lead counsel on transactions in more than 110 countries, reflecting both the breadth and sophistication of his international practice.

The arrival of Smith also reflects Taft's continued expansion of its Project Finance practice. In April, Taft launched an office in New York with a three-lawyer energy, infrastructure, and project finance group from Steptoe LLP.
