Preview of Dec. 9 City Council meeting

A City Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, in the council chamber on the upper level of City Hall, 100 Fort Worth Trail. This is the last council meeting for 2025. City Council will reconvene on Tuesday, Jan. 6, for a work session and a public comment meeting.

Special presentations include:

  • Salvation Army's Red Kettle campaign kickoff
  • Recognition honoring TCU Chancellor Daniel W. Pullin
  • Recognition of the 75th anniversary of Riverside Middle School
  • Recognition of the 30th anniversary of the Woman's Business Council Southwest

City Council will vote on the following items:

  • Execution of the project and financing plan for Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #17 (Near West Side TIF).
  • Execution of a contract with McClendon Construction Co. Inc. for combined street paving, stormwater, water, and sanitary and sewer improvements.
  • An agreement with the University of Texas at San Antonio to implement evidence-based crime reduction strategies for the Police Department.
  • Acceptance of a grant from Texas Health Community Hope to support Happy Kitchen/La Cocina Alegre nutrition education at two community centers.
  • Adoption of the Public Art Walk Plan for FY2026.
  • Resolution to approve raises for certain council-appointed positions.
  • Conduct a public hearing to adopt a resolution amending the general tax abatement policy.

Residents may speak during the public comment portion of the agenda. Per Council Rules of Procedure:

  • Individual presentations are limited to three minutes.
  • Group presentations are limited to six minutes.
  • Time limits may be adjusted at the mayor's discretion.
