Supporting Social and Spiritual Life, PT TIMAH Tbk Assists in the Construction of a House of Worship in Pemali

BANGKA - PT Timah Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to contributing to communities in its operational areas through various initiatives. Most recently, the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding member provided assistance for the construction of Al-Barokah Mosque located in Dusun Air Simpur, Pemali Village, Pemali District, Bangka Regency, in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

This assistance reflects PT Timah's genuine concern for the social and spiritual well-being of the surrounding community. With this support, the construction of Al-Barokah Mosque, which had previously been halted due to limited funds, can now resume gradually.

The head of Al-Barokah Mosque, Sulaiman, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for PT Timah's attention, which has finally brought to fruition a request submitted two years ago.

"In 2022, we submitted a request for assistance to PT Timah, but at that time, it couldn't be fulfilled. Alhamdulillah, this year our request has been granted. We are very grateful for this support as it enables us to continue the mosque's construction little by little," he said.

The mosque construction began in mid-2022 through community self-funding. Support later came from the regency and provincial governments, and now, PT TIMAH Tbk's contribution further strengthens the community's spirit to complete the house of worship.

"We started construction using funds from the community. The following year, support came from the local and provincial governments, and now from PT TIMAH Tbk. Although the assistance is provided in stages, it means a lot to us," he added.

Sulaiman stated that they do not have a fixed timeline for completing the mosque's construction, but the community continues to make progress each year. He also hopes that PT Timah will continue to support the next phases of the project.

"We don't have a set target for when the mosque will be completed, but we hope PT TIMAH will keep supporting us-not only in this mosque construction but also in other social initiatives," he said.

Besides serving as a place of worship, Al-Barokah Mosque, located near a local pond (kolong), is also expected to become a religious tourism destination and a resting place for travelers passing through the area.

"The mosque is in a fairly strategic location, close to the kolong. We hope it can become a stopover and prayer place for travelers, and also serve as a religious tourism attraction in our village," Sulaiman concluded. (*)
