“Knowledge Nests: VUB Brings Science into Brussels Neighbourhoods”

With its Knowledge Nests project, Science Brussels - an initiative of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel - is harnessing the power of STEAM education in the city. Working in partnership with schools, artists and researchers, young people and local residents are engaged in programmes addressing social themes such as fear and urban safety. Through this, VUB aims to make science accessible and to use it as a unifying force in society. "We are creating temporary knowledge hubs where science, art and community reinforce one another," the organisers explain.
