The new Wednesday On Main PLUS Winter Event Series has received grant funding from the Maine Community Foundation!
This support helps bring free or low-cost, family-friendly holiday programming to Bucksport at both The Alamo Theatre and the Bucksport Performing Arts Center (BPAC). Located adjacent to Bucksport Middle School, the BPAC seats nearly 500 people, offers excellent acoustics, abundant parking, and is fully handicapped accessible.
The Wednesday on MainPLUS Winter Series includes:
A holiday performance by Grammy Award-winning composer and pianist Paul Sullivan, bringing notable friends along to greet the season, on December 6 at BPAC. Time TBA
The Bagaduce Chorale, 70+ voices offering traditional holiday and chorale music to fill the hall with pure delight, accompanied by the incomparable GEM Ensemble, on December 20 at BPAC Time TBA
A FREE performance of The Grinch by Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers with popcorn generously provided by Bucksport's beloved independent bookstore, Book Stacks, on December 12 at The Alamo Theatre, 4:00 pm, Doors at 3:30 pm.
These events offer joyful, welcoming experiences for every age during the holiday season and utilize BPAC to bring performances and artists whose shows require larger venues to Bucksport.
The Program Director notes that "Holiday events for 2026 were in jeopardy in our community and because of the insight and generous support of the Maine Community Foundation, we can create moments to cheer us, bring laughter to children and extraordinary musical experiences designed to lighten, lift and enrich our souls. It means so much."
